Ehrlich Endorses "Shore Team"!!!! (Annapolis, MD) - Governor Robert Ehrlich today announced his endorsement of Senator Richard Colburn, Delegate Addie Eckardt and Delegate Jeannie Haddaway as candidates for Senate and House of Delegates in District 37. He cited their “common sense approach in a difficult political environment” as one of the reasons for his endorsement. “We must return these three legislators to Annapolis,” said Ehrlich. “They are dependable and hardworking and we need more leaders like them.” Referring to them as a “Shore Team”, he also commended them for being great advocates for the shore. “They are well respected among their colleagues and within my administration which is one of the reasons they are able to get the job done. Haddaway, who Governor Ehrlich refers to as a “rising star in Annapolis”, serves on the Economic Matters Committee, where she has improved opportunities for small and minority businesses and serves on the Women and Technology Task Force. She owns her own graphic design business, called Dragonfly Designs, LLC, and is an Independent Consultant for Arbonne International. She is married to Joseph Riccio and the two reside in Easton, Maryland.

Haddaway Makes Television Debut (Easton, MD) –You have seen her practically everywhere in the District in person and now you will even see her on your TV screen! Delegate Jeannie Haddaway made her television debut this week announcing a campaign commercial that will air on four major cable networks in the next few weeks before the election. If you watch Fox News, EPSN, Lifetime or the History Channel, you might spot one of the thirty-second clips, which talk about her commitment to education, the environment and economic development. The scenes are filmed at various locations across the Mid-Shore region and feature over thirty people in all four counties within her district. “It was really fun to work on and it made me really think about my role as a state representative,” said Haddaway. “With only thirty seconds to get your message out, you have to focus on the most important issues and consider every major constituent group you serve.” Featured constituencies include veterans, farmers, watermen, business owners, seniors and children, all of which Haddaway has worked with over the last three years to get bills passed or defeated in Annapolis. Many of these constituent groups have also endorsed her in the election including the Maryland Farm Bureau, the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and the National Federation of Independent Businesses. # # # |

Haddaway Selected as
Rawlings Fellow October 3, 2006 (Queenstown, MD) – Delegate Jeannie Haddaway has been selected as a Rawlings Fellow for the University of Maryland’s James MacGregor Burns Academy of Leadership. She is among only twenty-five other fellows selected from across the State of Maryland that will graduate in the Academy’s first class. Only a select number of Maryland’s public leaders were selected by the University to participate. The selections are made in partnership with the Governor, the Speaker of the House of Delegates and the President of the Senate. |

The Rawlings Center for Public Leadership was developed to be a living legacy to the late Delegate Howard Peters “Pete” Rawlings who is considered to be one of the most influential political leaders in Maryland’s history. The mission of the initiative is to develop the leadership knowledge and abilities of Maryland’s public leaders with a special emphasis on those historically under-represented in public life. Haddaway began her work last week at a weekend-long seminar hosted by the Aspen Institute’s Wye River facility in Queenstown. The location was chosen because of its elite history among political leaders, including the 1998 peace talks between Israel and Palestine with then President Bill Clinton. According to Haddaway, the participants have already gained a lot of insight. “I am confident that this experience will prove to be invaluable,” Haddaway said. “I am truly honored to have been selected for this prestigious training.” As the training intensifies over the next year, their objectives will include managing stress and conflict in organizations and institutions and the formal and informal roles of individuals within groups. The modules also address the psychology of message and media and individual development. Commencement is scheduled for May 2007. # # # |
